Chicago, or the Windy City as it is known should have you breezing down to Navy Pier when you visit. This is a setting for relaxation and fun that must simply be on everyone’s bucket list when visiting this fascinating and welcoming city. Navy Pier In Chicago When one visits Navy Pier the first think that immediately leaps into view is the 200 foot Ferris wheel that dominates the skyline – and this should be the first stop for anyone who wants to get a bird’s eye view of the city and the area surrounding the pier. Navy Pier has also undergone something of a makeover in recent years and this has resulted in it being reborn as one of Chicago’s premier foodie destinations – with a generous helping of great nighttime venues thrown into the mix. Firstly, for those in search of a suave option and a great cocktail the Tiny Lounge is just what is required. Newly redesigned this is where those in search of the perfectly created cocktail come and gather. The ambiance is laid back and the drinks are just about as close to perfection as is possible. As a pit stop on your travels around the pier there can be no better option. Cocktails aside Navy Pier is all about the family experience and there are eateries that are especially welcoming to those who have the little one’s with them. Family favorites like Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. will delight everyone that has a hankering for some fresh seafood at great prices. With a relaxed atmosphere and none of the pretension of high end restaurants this is the perfect place to bring the kids. However – if there is one experience that any visitor to the Pier will not want to miss it is the opportunity to enjoy Chicago’s signature culinary creation – the deep dish pizza. Visitors should make sure that they visit Giordano’s. Here the full majesty of the deep dish pizza is presented with flair and exceptional attention to detail. This is a venue that has constantly won accolades for best stuffed pizza in the land. You simply cannot miss out on these delicious rounds of taste – you have to try them – otherwise your visit to the Windy City will not be complete. Of course the fact that the Pier is located on the edge of Lake Michigan cannot be ignored. The scenery is spectacular – but for those who want that extra bit of fun there are always the many boating excursions that are offered by operators located at the Pier. Most of these tours start out from either South Dock or Polk Brother’s Park and are well worth the time spent out on the sparkling waters taking in the city from a unique perspective. Those with children in tow might also want to investigate the Chicago Children’s museum which will delight the younger members of the family (and those young at heart but slightly older). Navy Pier is well […]

Grant Park Chicago is one of the popular attractions in The Windy City. In fact, out of almost 700 things to do in Chicago, it ranks #41. That’s pretty good for being at the top of the pack in a city of that size. It is located on East Randolph Street, and it is known for many things, including the Buckingham Fountain. Have you heard of this fountain? Evidently, it is one of the must see spots when it comes to Grant Park in Chicago. People say that the Buckingham Fountain is huge and also very beautiful. It would be a sight to see for sure, and reviews mention all the other nearby sculptures in the park, too. People talk about more than just the fountain and the sculptures though. They also talk about events being held there, like music festivals and the Taste of Chicago. If you think about it, that’s the best time to visit Chicago, when an event is being held. Have you heard of The Taste of Chicago? It sounds quite tasty! In all seriousness, hundreds of reviews have been left about Grant Park Chicago, and many people talk about the great events that you can enjoy there as mentioned, Taste of Chicago being one of the favorites according to the highlights on a top travel site. 2814 W Warren Blvd Chicago, IL 60612 Get on I-290 E from N California Ave 3 min (0.9 mi) Merge onto I-290 E 4 min (2.7 mi) Continue on W Congress Pkwy. Much of that is credited to the fact that Lake Michigan us quite the view. Yes, Lake Michigan is along the side, and so that to me sounds like a great place to get some exercise. I like walking down the beach where I live, and if in Chicago, this is a spot to do just that. It’s interesting how many people talk about one of the highlights about Grant Park being the fact that it’s a green space in Chicago. People do say that there are other green spaces, but it just makes you think about the fact that grass is not often seen in big cities. Isn’t that weird to think of it like that? Anyway, Grant Park Chicago is a place where you can enjoy plenty of green grass in Chicago. And, there is also a nearby museum that people talk about going to as well. There is quite a lot going on in Grant Park, isn’t there? As you make your way through the park, you will see all kinds of artwork according to the reviews, too. The sculptures were already mentioned. And, one reviewer talks about the fact that Millennium Park is more crowded. Millennium Park is another top attraction in Chicago, and it actually ranks […]
